Volume playback priority

High data rate video playback is very hardware demanding. As Silverstack offers multi-destination backups, your valuable clips will be stored on different volumes. Different types of volumes may have various interface connections. To increase playback performance in Silverstack, it is possible to select the playback priority for every volume.

To accomplish that, you need to go to the jobs view, select the appropriate volume in the left sidebar and adjust it’s “Playback Prio” within the “Performance Settings” that can be found in the right sidebar, as shown below. If you want to learn more about the other performance settings, see the dedicated section within the article about thejobs view.

Note: If your main playback volume is offline, Silverstack will automatically select another volume in the order of your playback priority. If no priority is selected, Silverstack will randomly select the playback source volume.
