Workflow chart
The workflow chart is a visual representation of the workflows, jobs and tasks executed by Silverstack. Within this timeline, you can track how your data is processed and understand coherences such as performance, job states, processing and idle times, errors, and many more.
The workflow chart can be opened from the jobs view by clicking the Chart button in the top right area of the toolbar.
User interface#
Each job’s task is shown as a colored rectangle in the view with the horizontal width being the the task’s processing time. Generally speaking, tasks can be grouped by either by jobs or clips. Since the processing time of documents is significantly lower than the one of tasks, they are grouped together into their own track at the bottom. Depending on the zoom level in the view, tasks being closely to each other on the same track, are grouped together into grey-colored clusters. You can click these clusters to inspect them. In general, clicking and dragging the view allows you to quickly zoom into specific areas of the timeline.
Job state transition markers#
In case the workflow chart grouping is set to “Jobs”, the timeline may display markers indicating that the state of a job changed, e.g. when a job switches between one of the following states:
- Suspended
- Running
- Failed
These markers help you understand better relations between jobs and tasks, including why tasks are not being processed in specific time slots.
UI Elements#
Group by segmented controlAllows you to change the task grouping by either jobs or clips.
Truncate idle time iconTruncates the idle time of tasks to reduce the required horizontal width in the timeline. This does not apply for time of suspended jobs.
Zoom in / out iconAllows to zoom in or out of the timeline view.
Zoom 1:1 iconResets the zoom to default size.
Settings iconProvides you access to the following options:
- Time of Day: The time refers to the actual time of the day
- Time Since Start: The time refers to the start of the workflow/job
- Time Indicator for Cursor: Toggles a time indicator following the cursor position
- Zoom to Fit
- All Tasks: Fits all tasks into the view
- Selected Tasks: Zooms the view to fit the selected tasks
- Copy Details to Clipboard: Copies details of the selected tasks into the clipboard.This option is only available when one or more clips are selected.
