Exporters

The Silverstack exporters enable you to transfer data to the Pomfort ecosystem and various other 3rd party applications, including many non-linear editing softwares (NLE). You can find useful information about the exporter’s user interfaces and the data formats they handle:

Resource selection step#

Most exporters open the resource selection window first where you need to select the media for which you want to export data.

Choose Media Files from Volume… button
Allows you to select the volume where the resource is located.

Mark Only Selected button
Enables only the selected resources in the table. Right-Click on the button to change the function to “Mark All” or “Mark Selected”.

Unmark Selected button
Unmarks only the selected resources in the table. Right-Click on the button to change the function to “Unmark All” or “Unmark Only Selected”.

Search textfield
Enables you to search the resources.

Continue button
Opens the exporter’s next configuration step (usually the exporter’s essential configuration options).

1. Silverstack library archive (PSLA)#

Selection dropdown menu
Sets the content of the library archive.

Comment textfield
Allows you to enter a specific comment that will be shown when importing the library archive again.

Cancel button
Cancels the export process.

Export button
Opens a saving dialog to save the library archive to a specific location.

2. Generic CSV metadata (CSV)#

Clip Table Layout dropdown menu
Allows you to define which metadata will be stored in the CSV file. The layouts correspond to the ones in the library.

Clip Table Content dropdown menu
Allows you to define which assets the CSV file should cover.

Separator / Delimiter dropdown menu
Allows you to change the delimiter (between comma and semicolon).

3. Dynamic metadata (CSV)#

The dynamic metadata exporter has no specific options to configure. Simply export the CSV via the Export button.

Note: Dynamic metadata must be extracted first using the dynamic metadata panel before exporting them.

4. Final Cut Pro (XML)#

The XML exporter for Final Cut Pro can be opened by clicking the Export button in Silverstack’s toolbar and selecting the according menu item.

Content checkboxes
Allow you to enable/disable the export of specific information in the XML file. All content is enabled by default and usually does not require changes.

Open in Final Cut Pro radio button
Opens the assets immediately in Final Cut Pro (the application needs to be running already).

Save FCPXML File… radio button
Allows you to save a FCPXML file to a specific location.

5. Adobe Premiere Pro (XML)#

The XML exporter for Adobe Premiere Pro can be opened by clicking the Export button in Silverstack’s toolbar and selecting the according menu item.

Content checkboxes
Allow you to enable/disable the export of specific information in the XML file. All content is enabled by default and usually does not require changes.

Set Reel Name to… radio buttons
Defines which value is set as the reel name:

Reel Name: Sets the XML’s reel name to Silverstack’s clip reel name.
Source File Name: Sets the XML’s reel name to Silverstack’s clip source file name.
Source File Name Without Extension: Sets the XML’s reel name to Silverstack’s clip source file name but without file extension.
Video Clip Name: Sets the XML’s reel name to Silverstack’s clip name.

In Adobe Premiere Pro the XML’s reel name will be taken over to the tape name column.

Set Take to… radio buttons
Defines if the “Shot” value in Premiere Pro will be filled in with “Take” or “Shot-Take” information from Silverstack.

Include audio synced sequences and referenced audio clips checkbox
Creates Premiere Pro sequences that are synced with audio clips.

Go Back button
Returns to the previous configuration step.

Save XML… button
Opens the saving dialog to save the XML file.

5.1 XML metadata content#

General Clip Info
Contains the basic information needed to transfer clips (file paths, etc.)

Master Info
Contains scene, shot and take info as well as the reel name. Scene in Silverstack maps to the scene column in Premiere Pro while shot and take in Silverstack map to the “Shot” column in Premiere Pro in the format “Shot – Take”.

User/QC Info
Contains flag/circled info as well as comments (maps to “Description” column in Premiere Pro).

General clip settings as Master Comment 1
Maps general clip settings (e.g. information, sensor FPS, shutter angle, white balance, exposure index, ASA, color gamma) to the “Master Comment 1” column in Premiere Pro.

Tags as Master Comment 2
Maps the tags in Silverstack to the “Master Comments 2” in Premiere Pro.

Custom 1, 2 as Master Comment 3,4
Maps the custom comment fields 1 and 2 in Silverstack to the master comments 3 and 4 in Premiere Pro.

Labels as Clip Colors
Maps the labels in Silverstack to clip colors in Premiere Pro.

Audio Info
Takes over the source audio clip name’s column and the “# of Source Audio Tracks” value to “Clip Comment A” and “Clip Comment B” in Premiere.

Cue Points as Markers
Maps the cue points in Silverstack to the markers in Adobe Premiere Pro.

6. Avid Media Composer (ALE)#

The ALE exporter for Avid Media Composer can be opened by clicking the Export button in Silverstack’s toolbar and selecting the according menu item.

Project Format dropdown menu
Sets the project format for the ALE file.

Content checkboxes
Allow you to enable/disable the export of specific information in the ALE file. All content is enabled by default and usually does not require changes.

Scene-Take Export Format dropdown menu
Defines which and how the according metadata values are written into the ALE file.

Name dropdown menu
Sets the “Name” column in the ALE which results in the clip name that is shown in the target application.

Match clips based on… radio buttons
Defines which value is written into either the tape or the source file column.

Track column references dropdown menu
Defines if video & audio, only audio or no tracks are referenced in the ALE’s dedicated “Tracks” column.

Use Lower Case Letters for “Camera” Export checkbox
Sets the camera letter to lower case.

Go Back button
Returns to the previous configuration step.

Save ALE… button
Opens the saving dialog to save the ALE file.

7. DaVinci Resolve#

**Export Timeline (FCPX v1.9 XML File)**Enables the creation of a timeline containing the clips for Resolve with FCPXML version 1.9.

**Export Timeline (FCPX v1.5 XML File)**Enables the creation of a timeline containing the clips for Resolve with FCPXML version 1.5.

**Export Look Metadata (EDL + CCC File)**Enables the color metadata (ASC-CDL settings) for the clips in Resolve (via Colortrace).

**Export Clip Metadata (CSV File)**Enables the clip metadata for the clips in Resolve.

Set CSV “Reel Name” column to…
Sets the reel name column to one of the displayed options (reel name, clip name or source file name).

Returns to the previous configuration step.

Export button
Opens the saving dialog to save the files.
