Audio sync wizard
The Audio Sync Wizard is related to the Audio Panel. You can open it via the quick access button Media or via the user interface of the audio panel itself. Depending on whether you want to transfer audio metadata or not, step two of the process is optional:
- Clip selection
- Metadata import preview
- Automatic audio sync
In general, to sync audio with video, you first need to select the video bin and after that, select the appropriate audio bin via the audio sync wizard.
User interface#

1. Clip selection#
Choose Audio Bin/Folder
In the upper section of the audio sync wizard, you can choose the location of your audio bin that should be synced with the clips in the video bin.
Hide already synced video clips
Prevents already synchronized elements from being displayed. When disabled, video clips already synced to external audio appear in red.
Mark Only Selected
Enables only the selected clip in the table for synchronization. Right-click on the button to change the function to Mark All or Mark Selected.
Unmark SelectedUnmarks only the selected file in the table for synchronization. Right-click on the button to change the function to Unmark All or Unmark Only Selected.
Table
The table shows all available clips for syncing with information on Library Clip Name, Shooting Date, Timecode In / Out, Slate Info and Audio Clip Name. Click on a clip’s checkbox to enable or disable the sync process for a specific file. Underneath the table you are informed about how many files will be synced according to the current selection.
Import metadata from audio clips to video clips
Transfers the slate info from the audio clip’s to the video clip’s metadata. That includes Scene, Shot and Take. When enabled, you can proceed to the metadata import preview window. Otherwise, you can start the sync process immediately.

Opens the detailed logs. In case of an error the audio sync wizard gives you detailed information about the status of all involved media. The window defines in detail:
- All video clips that do not sync to any audio clip
- All selected audio clips that do not sync with a video clip
- All video and audio clips that have duplicate matches
Continue
Proceeds to the next step.
Sync
Starts the synchronization process.
2. Metadata import preview#
Show Clips
Filter clips by one of the following criteria:
- All: Shows all clips
- Changes: Shows only clips that are affected by changes
- Conflicts: Shows only clips that are affected by conflicts (metadata will be replaced)
- Unchanged: Shows only clips that are not changed
Original
Shows the metadata state before the import.
Go Back
Goes back to the previous step.
Finish
Starts the synchronization process and imports the audio metadata.
