Exporting clips and metadata for the COPRA dailies system

This article covers features which are only available in Silverstack Lab

In Silverstack Lab you can export a sidecar XML file that accompanies the transcoded clips and provides extended metadata for them. The transcoded clips can then be uploaded together with the XML to the COPRA platform, where the additional metadata will then be visible.

There are two ways of exporting a COPRA compatible metadata XML file in Silverstack Lab:

Using the automatic metadata export as part of the transcoding configuration. It can be set to automatically export a COPRA XML after the transcoding job finishes and the transcoded clips are reingested into the library.
Manually exporting it via the “Export” menu in the toolbar. It allows to manually trigger the XML export from the bin containing the transcoded clips in the Silverstack Lab library.

Exporting a COPRA compatible XML with the automatic metadata export option#

The metadata export option allows to automatically create a companion metadata file when a selected transcoding configuration is used for transcoding clips. You can learn more about Transcoding in Silverstack Lab in the equally titled article.

In order to set the COPRA Dailies System as the target application for the automatic metadata export please follow these steps:

First go to the transcoding configurations tab of the right sidebar.
Select the transcoding preset from the list.
Scroll down to the “Metadata Export” section. Select “COPRA Dailies System”:

Then next time you use the customized transcoding configuration, the COPRA XML file will be automatically exported to the same folder as the clips once the transcoding job finishes.

Manual export of a COPRA compatible XML#

In order to manually export a COPRA Compatible XML, please follow these steps:

Select a bin within the “Transcoded Clips” folder.
Choose Export > COPRA Dailies System
The wizard leads you through:
1. The source selection. Here you can select the clips that should be part of the XML.
2. The content selection. Select which metadata should be part of the XML.
Click on the Save COPRA XML to export the XML to the specified directory.
