Playback & QC
Silverstack offers a wide range of options to playback, view and assess clips by using the playback and QC views. You can open the playback view via the main window’s center view by clicking the little playback icon or enabling the QC layout via the “QC” button in the toolbar. Moreover, you can control playback using the industry-strandard JKL controls, or scrub through clips, zoom in and out, alter the display resolution for RAW clips, and much more.

1. The basics of playback#
Start with learning the basic playback controls. Silverstack also supports HD-SDI output to display clips in best quality on an external monitor with HD-SDI capabilities. Read the article about HD-SDI output in Silverstack to learn more about it.
2. Overlay and transformation features#
A lot of functions that help you check the colors, luminance, focus and overall quality of your video clips are bundled within the visual controls and scopes. On top of that, you have the ability to configure overlays for playback as well as for SDI output, for example frame lines.
In the general info’s processing section you find options for image transformations to de-squeeze clips recorded with anamorphic lenses, flip or rotate clips, and apply crops.
3. Advanced features#
In case your assets have resources on multiple volumes, it is possible to set the playback priority for a volume and potentially improve the performance by this. When grading dailies, it might be necessary to compare clips in the playback view using the gride and wipe functions.
