Composite slot settings
The composite slot settings display configuration and status information for the currently selected composite slot. They provide an overview of the slot type, composite layout configuration, and source assignment mode.
The settings are shown in the slot panel in the upper-right area of the main window.

Composite slot settings
Opening composite slot settings#
To view the settings:
- Select a composite slot in the Slots view.
- Open the Slot Settings tab in the slot panel.
Slot header#
The slot header displays information about the selected composite slot.
Slot type label
Displays the slot type. For composite slots, the value Composite Slot cannot be edited.
Slot label text fieldDisplays the slot label and allows editing the slot name.
Layout options#
Layout segmented control
Sets the composition layout of the composite slot.
- Side-by-Side (2×1)Creates a side-by-side view of two slots.
- Side-by-Side (3×1)Creates a side-by-side view of three slots.
- RotationAllows rotating the composite image by −90° or +90° for vertical monitor installations.
- 2×2 GridCreates a grid view of up to four slots.
- 3×2 GridCreates a grid view of up to six slots.
- 3×3 GridCreates a grid view of up to nine slots.
- SwipeCreates a split view of two slots with a horizontal or vertical swipe option.
- OverlayCreates an overlay view using two slots.
The overlay settings provide additional parameters:
- ExtentDefines the dimensions of the final composite.
- BackgroundUses the resolution of the loaded background plate.
- Fit to CanvasUses a fixed 16:9 canvas.
- Opacity, Scale, and OffsetControl the appearance and positioning of the foreground within the composite.
Slot source options#
Mode segmented control
Sets how composite sources are assigned.
Auto
Assigns sources based on the selection of input or library slots. Hold the Option key and select the desired source slot.
Manual
Assigns sources using the source pickers shown below the segmented control.
Filter settings#
Composite slots do not have their own filter settings. They display the content of their assigned source slots, including the filters applied to those slots, according to the selected composite layout.
Related filter settings
can be adjusted live from a composite slot. Changes to filter parameters cannot be saved for loaded clips.
