Input slot card

The input slot card represents an input slot in the Slots view. It displays the live or playback signal of the slot together with status indicators and controls related to monitoring, recording, and playback.

The available information and controls depend on the current slot mode.

Input slot card in playback mode

Slot header#

The slot header contains identifiers and status indicators for the input slot.

Sync indicator
Indicates whether the current live signal or loaded clip is part of a timecode-synced group recording.

Slot character label
Displays the character identifier of the input slot.

Slot label label
Displays the configured label of the input slot.

Device type indicator
Indicates the technology of the configured input device.

Operation state color bar#

The operation state color bar indicates the current state of the video signal.

Selection indicators#

The border and fill color of the slot card indicate different selection states.

Auto selection mode allows selecting sources for a composite slot by Option-clicking a slot.

Preview#

The preview area displays the video signal of the slot.

Depending on the slot mode, the preview shows:

  • a live signal from the configured input device
  • playback of a recorded clip
  • a combination of both signals in reference mode

Slot mode#

Input slots support three slot modes.

Live button (camera symbol)
Switches the slot to live mode and displays the incoming signal.

Playback button (film strip symbol)
Switches the slot to playback mode and displays recorded clips.

Reference button (eye symbol)
Switches the slot to reference mode, allowing comparison between the live signal and playback.

Slate and clip information#

Information about the current signal is displayed below the preview.

Slate info label
Displays the slate metadata of the current signal (Scene / Shot / Take or Scene / Take).

Clip name label
Displays the clip name of the current signal.

Selecting the label toggles between slate metadata and clip name.

Recording controls#

Record flag indicator
Displays the status of automatic record trigger detection.

Arm slot for recording button
Arms or disarms the input slot for the next recording.

Record button
Starts or stops a recording for the input slot.
