Export to Final Cut Pro
Reeltime Pro allows you to export clips and metadata directly to Final Cut Pro for immediate review and editing. Exports include structured timelines, enabling continuity checks and rough cuts while still on set.
Export clips#
You can export clips from the clip library in two ways:
- File > Export to Final Cut ProExports all clips currently visible in the library
- File > Export Selected Clips to Final Cut ProExports only the selected clips
Both options are also available via the export toolbar button.
The export transfers clips together with their associated metadata, including:
- In/out ranges and ratings
- Markers and marker ranges
- Slate information (scene and take)
- Notes such as comments, flags, and captions
Configure export options#
The Export to Final Cut Pro window lets you define how the timelines are generated:
- Included Clips
Choose which takes to include (e.g. flagged or best-rated takes) - Included In/Out Ranges
Limit the timeline to selected or best-rated ranges - Apply crop filters
Optionally transfer crop settings as clip transforms
Generated timelines#
Each export creates an event in Final Cut Pro containing all clips and two pre-built timelines:
- Multicam timeline
Groups recordings into multicam clips for angle-based editing - Multi-track timeline
Stacks clips as parallel tracks for quick comparison and review
Export destinations#
You can choose between two export methods:
- Direct export to Final Cut Pro
Opens Final Cut Pro and imports the clips into a selected library for immediate editing - Export XML to disk (.fcpxml)
Saves a file for transfer to another system or for import into other editing software such as DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro
