Slot manager

You can add or remove input and output slots and associate them with your connected devices in the slot manager.

You open the slot manager via the button in the main window’s toolbar or via:

Reeltime Pro / Reeltime Lite > Slot Manager…

Adding and configuring slots#

The slot manager allows you to flexibly configure your system depending on your license:

  • Reeltime Lite supports up to 4 slots in total(3 inputs + 1 output, 2 inputs + 2 outputs, or 1 input + 3 outputs)
  • Reeltime Pro 3-Channel supports up to 3 input slots and up to 6 output slots
  • Reeltime Pro 6-Channel supports up to 6 input slots and up to 9 output slots

Within the slot manager, you can associate input sources (e.g. SDI input ports) from any compatible device connected to your machine with input slots. In the same way, you can assign destinations (e.g. SDI output ports) to output slots.

Video format behavior#

The video format of the incoming signal automatically defines the video format of the device.

For output signals, the video format usually follows the input but can also be set to a fixed output format. This can help avoid signal interruptions during camera repositioning or battery swaps. In addition, using a higher output video format can help reduce overall system latency.

Metadata and recording triggers#

To correctly receive a camera’s ANC metadata and trigger recording via the record flag embedded in the SDI signal, ensure that the appropriate camera type and record trigger method are configured.

Signal decoding#

In specific cases, you can change the decoding levels from legal to full. This may be required, for example, when working with ungraded signals from certain cameras (e.g. Sony) that output extended range SDI signals.

Slot setups#

If you frequently switch between different configurations, you can save and restore slot setups.

A slot setup includes all configured slots, including input/output device assignments and stream configurations.

You can open the Slot Setups window via:

Reeltime Pro / Reeltime Lite > Slot Setups…

or via the Slot Setups… button in the top-right corner of the slot manager.

In the Slot Setups window, you can:

  • Delete setups
  • Save the current setup
  • Restore a previously saved setup
  • Rename setups
  • Duplicate setups
