Preset library

Presets are used to collect looks and nodes so that they can be reused at a later date. The preset library tab shows an overview of all stored looks and offers controls to

  • Create look and node presets
  • Create a folder and bins to structure the presets
  • Search for certain presets
  • Overview of all collected presets in a collection and list view
  • Apply look and node presets to slots or shots in the library

Preset library tab#

To open the look library tab:

  • Click on the Slot Settings tab within the slot panel in the bottom-right of the main screen.
  • Click on the Slot you want to set up.

The preset library offers two different views: A collection view with preview thumbnails and a list view.

The Look library tab consists of two elements:

  • The folder outline of the preset library is located in the upper area
  • In the lower area is the preset table, which displays all presets of a selected folder or bin either as a list or as a collection view.

Presets folder outline#

The presets folder outline structures all look and node presets of the current project.

The contextual menu of preset folders and bins offers the following menu items:

Add Folder… menu item
Adds a folder to the presets outline.

Add Subfolder… menu item
Adds a subfolder to a presets folder.

Add Bin… menu item
Adds a bin to a presets folder.

Set as Default Bin… menu item
The default bin defines where new looks will be added when using “Create Look Preset” or “Create Node Preset” actions.

Delete… menu item
Deletes a folder or bin

Import Look Archive (PFLA)… menu item
Allows importing presets that were exported as PFLA from other projects.

Export Look Archive (PFLA)... menu item
Allows exporting presets from a project so that you can import them again in a different project or on a different computer.

Presets table#

The presets table shows all collected presets of the selected folder or bin.

The following control items can be found in the header of the presets table:

Collection view button
Shows all presets in a collection view with a preview thumbnail. This allows to quickly spot the look adjustments a preset contains. Node presets are indicated by a little icon with an N in the top-left corner. You can click on the little “i” in the bottom left of a preset to display information about the nodes of the node presets.

List view button
Shows all presets in a list view. Index: Shows the index of the preset. Can be useful when using Stream Deck actions to access presets with a certain index.Type: A circle with a dot indicates a look preset. A circle with an N indicates a node preset.Name: The name of the preset.Metadata: Node presets can contain certain metadata fields. The values stored in the node preset can be used to overwrite metadata in the slot where the preset is applied. This can be done by using “Apply Preset Including Metadata to Selected Slot”. Metadata fields which can be stored with a node preset are: Camera Model, Lens Model, Focal Length, Aperture, Filter, Custom 1, CommentMode: Shows the grading mode of the preset.

Search text field
Allows searching for a certain preset.

Update button
Updates the selected preset with the current look.

Create Node Preset button
Opens a dialog to create a new node preset. In the opening dialog, you can choose which node should be saved and if metadata should be saved with the node preset.

Tip: Use the “Create Node Preset from Selected Node” action to quickly create a node preset from the currently selected node. The action can be triggered via Stream Deck or Tangent controller action or via the main menu: Look and Filter > Presets > [Create Node Preset from Selected Node]

Creates a new look preset from the current look.

Contextual menu of presets#

The contextual menu of presets offer the following menu items:

Apply Preset to Selected Slot menu item
Applies a preset to the selected slot. If the preset is a node preset, the node with the same name will be overwritten. If no node with a matching name exists, the node will be added as a new node to the look.

[Only available for node presets.]
If the preset is a node preset, the node with the same name will be overwritten. If no node with a matching name exists, the node will be added as a new node to the look.

Apply Preset to Selected Shots menu item
Applies a preset to shots that are currently selected in the library.If the preset is a node preset, the node with the same name will be overwritten. If no node with a matching name exists, the node will be added as new node to the look.

Update Preset menu item
Updates the selected preset with the current look.

Update Preset and Replace Thumbnail menu item
Updates the selected preset with the current look and updates the saved thumbnail.

Rename Preset menu item
Allows renaming the name of a preset.Duplicate Preset menu itemAllows duplicating a preset.

Delete Preset menu item
Allows deleting a preset.

Export Looks From Selected Presets… menu item
Allows exporting looks from presets.

Sort By menu item
Allows sorting the preset list by Creation Date, Name, Metadata or Mode
