Slot settings
The slot settings collect all important information of the currently selected slot, including
- An overview of the slot’s name and source configuration
- the possibility to switch between Live/Playback mode
- the possibility to switch between different display modes
- the slot’s filter chain, including the look filter
Let’s go through the details.
Slot settings tab#
To open the slot settings:
- Click on the Slot you want to set up.
- Click on the Slot Settings tab within the slot panel in the bottom-right of the main screen.

Slot header#
Shows the slot type, slot character, and slot label of the selected slot.
Slot type label
Cannot be edited, e.g. “Input Slot”.
Slot character label
Can be edited via the slot manager.
Slot label textfield
Can be edited.
Slot source options#
Source label
Image and metadata source for the selected slot. Can be set via the slot manager.
Loaded Shot label
Shot that is currently loaded in the selected input slot. It can be changed by loading a different shot into the selected slot.
Follow selection in Shot Library checkbox
Sets a library slot to automatically load the selected shot in the library into the slot. Only available for library slots.
Viewing modes#
Live/Playback toggle
Sets a slot to live or playback mode. Only available for input slots.
- Live Shows the attached live image source (image stream or frame grab), adjusts an attached grading device, and fills the upcoming clip or still shot with data entered by global and slot metadata fields.
- Playback Shows a shot from the library. Can be used for playback and re-grading of a clip or a still.
Display mode segmented controlDefines which part of your look will be applied to the original signal.
- Graded Applies all nodes of your look to the image.
- Bypass Applies only the last LUT node to the image.
- Original Shows the original signal and does not apply any node to the image.
- Exposure Assist Applies False Color or EL Zone to the original image.
- Private Mode Excludes attached grading devices from further changes. Only available for input slots in live mode

Grading Mode dropdown menu
Every grading mode follows specific rules to ensure the look of a certain mode can be exported correctly.

Defines what happens when enabling Exposure Assiston the current slot. Learn more here: Using exposure assist
Output Colorspace dropdown menu
The output colorspace of your slot can be set
- automatically by the last out node of your look or
- manually
Keep in mind, that the output colorspace should correspond to the Target Colorspace of your production, which can be set in the “Grading” tab of Livegrade’s settings.
Filter#
In addition to the look, filters can be added by pressing the + Add Filter button to a slot.
Filters can be ordered by dragging them with the mouse.
They will be saved with the shot and when exporting shots, you can choose if you want to apply them or not.
