Slot metadata

The slot metadata tab collects all metadata fields for an upcoming shot or a loaded slot.

If the currently selected slot is an input slot in “Live” mode

  • the metadata tab will show all live metadata fields to collect camera-specific information which will be stored with the next still or recording.

In all other situations

  • the metadata tab will show all library metadata fields that are saved with the loaded shot.

Live metadata fields#

To access live metadata fields of a slot

  • Click on an Input Slot and switch to Live mode
  • Click on the Metadata tab within the slot panel in the bottom-right of the main screen.

The metadata tab offers the following UI elements to enter live metadata:

Field (e.g. “Clip Name”) textfieldSets the value for a certain metadata field.Disabled, if the value is set to be auto-populated by a metadata, image or shared metadata field source.

Source buttonSelect the source for the field.

  • User Editable: allows to enter a custom value to the field
  • Metadata Source: the value provided from the configured metadata source will be set
  • Image Source: the value provided from the configured metadata source will be set
  • Shared With Other Slots: the value provided from the shared metadata fields section in the global metadata panel will be set

The image and metadata source of the slot can be configured in the slot manager.

Ellipsis (…) buttonOpens a popup with more actions for a metadata field.

Source dropdown menuAllows to select the source of the metadata field. Manual: Metadata field can be entered manually.Automatic: Metadata field will be auto-populated via SDI metadata.Shared: Metadata will be set via the global metadata panel.

Show in Quick View toggleAdds a metadata field to be shown in the slot view metadata table.

Library metadata fields#

To access stored metadata of a shot which is currently loaded in a slot

  • Click on a Slot which contains the shot you want to edit.
  • Click on the Slot Metadata tab within the slot panel in the bottom-right of the main screen.

The metadata tab offers a preview image that was stored with the shot and various editable fields to edit the stored values of the shot.

Tip: All metadata fields can also be edited via the shot libraries’ general info tab. The general info tab can also be used to batch edit multiple shots.
