Slot view

The slot view collects the most important information and actions for a slot which handles a live camera signal or a loaded shot from a library.

The currently selected slot is highlighted blue.

Slot view in detail#

Slot character and label#

Slot character label
Shows the slot character of the slot.

Slot label label
Shows the slot label of the slot.

Background color
The background color indicates the selection and linking state of a slot. Accent color (macOS default: blue): Indicates the selected slot. Grey: Indicates, that the slot is not selected. Dark grey: Indicates, that the slot is not part of the current stage. Transparent accent color (macOS default: dark blue): Indicates a slot that will be affected by changes in the look due to a linked node.

Display modes buttons#

Various buttons allow to change the processing state of the slot.

Graded button
Applies all nodes of the look.

Bypass button
Disables all color correction nodes. Only the output transform will stay enabled.

Original button
Disables the whole look.

Exposure Assist button
Applies the Exposure Assist LUT which is set in the slot settings.

Private mode button
[Only available for input slots in “Live” mode]
Enables private mode to exclude look devices from further changes of the look or processing state.

Follow Selection in Shot Library button
[Only available for library slots]
Enables/disables the mechanism to automatically load the selected shot to the library slot.

Ellipsis menu button#

The menu offers more actions for the slot.

Add to Multi-View menu item
Adds the slot to the multi-view.

Remove from Multi-View menu item
Adds the slot to the multi-view.

Clear Reference menu item
Removes the reference from the slot.[Set Reference] Sets the slot as reference for the selected slot.

Refresh Frame Grab menu item
[Only available, if the image and metadata source is a frame grab.]
Manually request a new frame grab from an attached look device.

Reconnect Grading Device(s) menu item
Reconnects to attached LUT boxes, monitors or other look devices.

Metadata Fields menu
Allows to configure the shown metadata fields, when showing the slots as “Metadata only” or “Previews with Metadata” viewing mode.

Shot creation controls#

Record flag label
[Only available for input slots in “Live” mode]
Indicates if the slot receives a record flag.

Arm slot button
[Only available for input slots in “Live” mode]
Arms/unarms a slot. Armed slots will be respected when using actions to create a still or a recording for all armed slots.

Record button
[Only available for input slots in “Live” mode with an image stream as image source]
Starts/stops an individual recording of the slot.

Create still button
Creates a still shot for the slot.

Live/Playback#

Live button
[Only available for input slots]
Switches the current input slot to live mode.

Playback button
[Only available for input slots]
Switches the current input slot to playback mode.

Reference eye icon
Indicates if the shot has currently assigned a reference.

Coloured border#

The border color of a slot indicates following different states:

Accent color (macOS default: blue): Indicates the selected slot.Orange: Indicates, that the slot is one out of of multiple sources in the currently selected output.

Preview#

Shows a preview of the slot. Depending on the image source configuration of the slot, it will be either a fluid image stream or a frame grab.
