Global metadata panel and quick view
Global metadata can be summarised as metadata that corresponds to all cameras and which will be saved with the next created still or recorded clip.
To collect global metadata, you can use the following tools, which allow you to enter metadata while shooting:
- the global metadata panel
- the global metadata quick view
Global metadata panel#
All slating metadata and other fields that apply to all slots can be overviewed and set via the global metadata panel, which can be found in the right sidebar.

To access global metadata panel of a slot
- Click on an Input Slot and switch to Live mode
- Click on the Global Metadata tab within the right sidebar slot panel in the top-right of the main screen.
The metadata tab offers the following UI elements to enter live metadata:
Field (e.g. “Clip Name”) textfield
Sets the value for a certain metadata field.
Ellipsis (…) button
[Only available for shared metadata fields.]
Opens a popup with more actions for a metadata field.
+ Add Shared Metadata Field button
Allows to use a slot metadata field to be used as global metadata field in order to set a value for all input slots at once.
Global metadata quick view#
To access the most important global metadata fields quickly, add them to the “Global Metadata Quick view,” which can be found just above the slots.
- Click on the wheel button menu on the right and select the fields you want to show in your quick view.
