Filter types

Livegrade provides the following filters for input slots, library slots, temporary slots, and outputs:

  • Crop with offset and rotation parameters and an auto-detection to crop out the black-bordered status info from a camera HUD
  • Flip for flipping the image horizontally/vertically
  • Transform for rotating or scaling the image
  • Anamorphic Desqueeze to view images captured with anamorphic lenses
  • Fit to Canvas allowing overlays on the entire viewer area with a customizable canvas color which adapts signals in other aspect ratios to the 16:9
  • Frame Lines allowing frame lines overlays and importing ARRI FLLIT XML and ASC-FDL
  • Metadata Overlay with parameters for the metadata fields Camera, Slate Info, Tally State, Slot Mode (Live, Playback), Clip Name, Timecode, Custom Text, Sensor FPS, EI/ISO, White Balance (incl. Green Tint), ND Filter, Lens Model, Aperture, Focus Distance, Filter, and Cam Tilt/Roll
  • Tally with various indicator options, and style and size parameters allows to apply an on-screen tally to indicate the current operation state (Record, Record Rehearsal, Live, Play, Pause) in various styles
  • Image Overlay with offset, scale, and opacity parameters (e.g., for adding a logo or watermark)
  • LUT for loading a 3D LUT in a .cube format (e.g., for applying a conversion LUT for a certain display that should not be part of the look)

Additional filters#

The following filters require activation via the Key and mix module.

  • Blur adds a Gaussian blur (e.g., for softening the background plate of a compositing).
  • Keyer with various matte and fill control parameters and a spill suppression allows real-time removal of greenish or blueish areas from live or playback signals, and creates a transparent, isolated foreground for compositing (via the overlay layout mode of a composite slot)
