Settings tab
The Settings tab of the sidebar holds the settings of Livegrade Cinema that are not specific to a single window. It contains the dimming of the surroundings and the buffering behavior of the stream reception.
Unlike the layout and stream assignment in the Streams tab, these settings apply to the whole app.
Surroundings#
Dim Surroundings toggle
Darkens the passthrough view of the physical surroundings while a window of the app is open, so that the image stands out more clearly. Off by default. The cinema and the immersive view dim the surroundings independently of this setting.
Buffering#
The buffering settings determine how much of the incoming stream is held back before it is displayed. A larger buffer compensates for irregular network transport for steady playback or live image, a smaller one reduces the latency.
Auto / Manual segmented control
Selects whether the buffer is determined automatically or set to a fixed time.
Strategy picker
Shown in Auto mode. Fast
keeps the delay as low as possible, Robust
tolerates larger fluctuations of the network transport with higher latency.
Time slider
Shown in Manual mode. Sets the buffer between 0 and 1000 ms; the value is displayed next to the slider. At the left end the slider reads “Off”, which displays frames without additional buffering.
Show Buffer Summary toggle
Shows a badge with the state of the buffer in the stream info bars and in the panels of the cinema and the immersive view. Off by default.
The badge shows a colored dot for the current state — green for a comfortable lead, orange when the lead falls below half a frame, red when the timing was missed — followed by the active mode as “Auto - Fast”, “Auto - Robust”, “Manual - N ms”, or “Off”.
Changes to the buffering settings take effect immediately for all streams being received, including those in the cinema and the immersive view.

The About tab of the sidebar shows the app icon, the version, and the copyright notice, and offers the following:

Switches between an overview of the gestures and the list of contributors and acknowledgements.
