Getting started with Livegrade Cinema
Livegrade Cinema is a companion app to Livegrade for Apple Vision Pro. It receives the low-latency local streams distributed by the machine at the Livegrade station and shows them in three viewing modes: resizable monitor windows in passthrough, a virtual cinema, and a 180° stereo view for immersive video streams.
Installation#
You can download Livegrade Cinema for free on the App Store.
System requirements#
Livegrade Cinema is built for Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 26 or later.
The device must be connected to the same local network as the machine running Livegrade. On first launch, visionOS asks for permission to access the local network; without it, no servers are discovered.
Server-side requirements#
Streams are provided by a machine running Livegrade with at least one local stream output configured. Configuring the server side is described in Distributing local streams for Livegrade Viewer app.
Stereo streams for the immersive view additionally require the Immersive Video filter in the slot and an Immersive Video Local Stream output.
Viewing modes#
Monitor window
One or more windows placed freely in space (visionOS’ passthrough mode), each showing up to four streams in a selectable layout. See Monitor window.
Cinema view
A dark virtual cinema with a large flat screen, for streams with regular (non-stereo) codec. See Cinema view.
Immersive view
Projected playback of stereo immersive video (MV-HEVC) streams around the viewer. See Immersive view.
Depending on the stream type only one of the two immersive modes is accessible, and entering either one hides all app windows until it is left again.
