Cinema view
The cinema view of Livegrade Cinema shows a single stream on a large screen in a darkened virtual cinema. It is intended for concentrated review of live signals and playback, without the physical surroundings and without other windows.
The cinema view is used for regular local streams. Immersive local streams open the Immersive view instead.
The cinema view replaces the view of the physical surroundings. Use it while seated and stationary, and make sure the surroundings are safe before entering.
Entering the cinema#
A single tap on a stream in a Monitor window shows its controls. The button in the upper right corner of the image area then opens the cinema view for that stream.
Entering hides all windows of the app. They are restored when the cinema is left.
The room#
The cinema is a darkened room with a flat screen of about five meters width in the 16:9 aspect ratio.
The level of immersion is set with the Digital Crown of the Apple Vision Pro. The view opens at an immersion of 75 percent, so that part of the physical surroundings stays visible around the image. The cinema is only fully darkened at an immersion of 100 percent.
Streams whose aspect ratio differs from 16:9 are fitted into the screen and framed by the black surface behind it.
Cinema panel#
A tap on the screen shows and hides the cinema panel. It appears in front of the screen at the height of the eyes and contains the following.
Stream: label
The name of the stream being shown, together with the slate information of the current signal, and a colored dot for the reception state. While the sending slot is recording, a red “REC” indicator is shown next to it. Without a stream the label reads “Not Connected”.
Show Stream Info toggle
Shows and hides the stream info bar above the screen. Off by default.
Viewing Position segmented control
Sets the distance to the screen: Near
or Far
. The room moves to the new position in an animation. The default is Near
.
Leave Cinema button
Leaves the cinema view and restores the windows.
Stream info bar#
With Show Stream Info enabled, a bar spanning the width of the screen is shown above it. It contains an icon for the live or playback mode of the slot, the name of the stream with its source, the slate badges “SCN”, “SHO”, and “TAK” with their values, the clip name for playback signals, and the timecode.
Leaving the cinema#
The cinema is left with the Leave Cinema button, or with the Digital Crown of the Apple Vision Pro.
If the stream stops delivering frames for several seconds, the cinema closes by itself and the windows are restored.
