Using a shot as a reference
Each shot in Livegrade integrates a reference media item (clip or still), a look, and the corresponding metadata.
The entirety of all shots thus forms a structured database of references that is collected and enriched during the shoot.
In this article, you will learn how to use the collected shots as a reference.
As a shot in Livegrade can be a still or a clip, the following will first deal with stills as a reference and then with clips as a reference.
Using a still as a reference#
To search and manage stills to be used as references, the following tools within the shot library could be helpful:
- Smart groups:
- The smart groups view within the shot library allows to structure the library based on metadata
- Labels:
- The labels field of a shot allows to visually highlight certain types of shots, e.g., “Reference Still”
