Using shots as looks

Each shot in Livegrade integrates a reference media item (clip or still), a look, and the corresponding metadata.

The entirety of all shots thus forms a structured database of looks with associated references and metadata.

Search for a look#

To search for a certain look in the shot library, the following tools could be helpful:

• Smart groups:
  • The smart groups view within the shot library allows to structure the library based on metadata
• Labels:
  • The labels field of a shot allows to visually highlight certain types of shots, e.g., “Reference Still”
• Shot library search:
  • The search in the header of the shot library allows to select a specific field to search for a term in this field only

Application of a look to a slot#

To apply the look of a shot to a slot, you have the following possibilities

• Apply Look

  • Applies the look of the selected shot to the selected slot
  • can be triggered via
    • via the dedicated button in the toolbar
    • via “Apply Look” in the contextual menu of a shot
    • via “Apply Look of Selected Shot” Stream Deck action
    • via “Apply Look of Selected Shot” Tangent controller action

• Apply Look of Group to Selected Source Slots

  • applies the looks of the currently selected group to their source slots.
  • can be triggered via
    • via “Apply Look of Group to Selected Source Slots” in the contextual menu of a shot
    • via “Apply Look of Group to Selected Source Slots” Stream Deck action
    • via “Apply Look of Group to Selected Source Slots” Tangent controller action
