Mark important frames in a clip

Markers give you the opportunity to organize yourself within recorded clips.

You can use them to mark frames or sequences within a clip which are particularly interesting, such as a creative reference or a technical note.

This article guides you through the different places in the app, where you can set, access and use markers.

Markers tab#

To set and edit markers of a recorded clip, open the markers tab in the slot panel in the bottom right section of the app.

Shot library#

Within the shot library table you can

  • Use the search mechanism in the header of the table to search for marker types notes.
  • Show used markers within the table by showing “Marker Types” and “Marker Count” column.
  • Print used “Marker Types” and “Marker Count” on your PDF report or CSV metadata export
  • Use the markers tab within a shot’s general info to edit markers of a certain shot.

Viewer controls#

To quickly set markers and navigate to them, you will find the following buttons within the viewer’s controls.

The thumbnail frame marker is a special marker and has special attributes compared to all other marker types:

  • It defines the playhead position used to
    • create a thumbnail in the library
    • export an image from a shot
    • load a clip to a slot
