Manually migrating Livegrade 6 projects to Livegrade 7

This article describes how to migrate a Livegrade 6 project to Livegrade 7 manually, by copying its project folder into the Livegrade 7 library — useful if you skipped the automatic migration at the first startup of Livegrade 7 or need to migrate a project at a later point.

Prepare Livegrade 7#

Open Livegrade 7
Back up your current Livegrade 7 settings via Livegrade > Export/Import Settings > Export Settings…
Close Livegrade 7

Copy the project folder from Livegrade 6#

Open Livegrade 6 and the project you want to migrate
Open the project’s location in Finder via Livegrade > Show Library In Finder
Copy the project folder to the Livegrade 7 library folder, located at:

/Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Pomfort/Livegrade7
```

Note: Note: If the project folder already exists in the Livegrade 7 library folder because of a previous migration attempt, rename the folder you are copying to a different name first, e.g. rename Project-0C3843477AE0 to Project-0C3843477AE0_v2

Close Livegrade 6

Complete the migration in Livegrade 7#

Open Livegrade 7
Use the project chooser in the middle of the main toolbar to open the migrated project
A dialog asks whether you want to migrate the project. Select Migrate Project to complete the migration
Re-import the settings you exported in step 1 via Livegrade > Export/Import Settings > Import Settings…

Conclusion#

Your Livegrade 6 project is now available in Livegrade 7, and your previous Livegrade 7 settings have been restored. Repeat these steps for any additional Livegrade 6 project you need to migrate manually.
