Group playback clips and and in- and out ranges
This article covers features that require activation via a module license.
Livegrade generally supports simultaneous recording and individual clip playback. This extension builds on that foundation by enabling fully synchronized playback of multi-camera setups, including in/out ranges, and playback across multiple monitors. It gives you everything your DP and you need for a comprehensive review of a take and a full grasp of the scene (for example, multiple angles).
Playback recorded groups simultaneously#
When working with multiple cameras, the possibility to arm/un-arm a slot allows you to
- set which camera should be recorded in the next take
- group the recorded cameras by their timecode
Arming/unarming a slot is possible
- by pressing the Arm button in the slot’s preview
- via menu: Shot Library > Arm Slot > [Arm Slot A for Recording]

Arming a slot
When loading a group of shots back into their source slots (e.g. via double-click on a shot), the playhead of all clips which are part of the group will be synced. As soon as you start playback, all playbacks of the group will start as well.
This behaviour also counts for moving the playhead of a clip which is part of a group: moving the playhead in one clip, you will also reach exactly the same position in other clips of the group.
Set and playback in- and out ranges#
To re-view only the part of the clip that is relevant to the scene, you can
- set several in- and out-ranges within a clip
- playback only one particular range or all ranges of the clip
The controls to set and playback in- and out ranges become available
- via menu items in Edit > [In/Out Ranges]
- via buttons in the viewer controls
- via buttons in the markers tab
