Setting up Brompton Tessera processor

This article covers features that require activation via a module license.

Livegrade comes with support for remote LUT control of Brompton Tessera processors. This feature enables the user to control the LUT inside the Tessera processor that affects the processing of image on the LED wall. Livegrade can connect and control to multiple Brompton processors as long as they are reachable via a network connection (LAN or WiFi depending on your setup).

Prerequisites#

In order to exchange LUT information with Livegrade Studio, the Brompton processor needs to have a working network connection with the Mac where Livegrade Studio is running on. You can test that by using the “ping” command in the Terminal on macOS to check if the IP address of the Brompton server is responding.

In the Brompton Processor configuration make sure that

• “IP Control“, and
• “3D LUT“

are switched on.

Adding a Brompton processor as look device#

Once a connection is established, you can launch Livegrade and add the Brompton processor as a device to an input slot using the slot manager.

Open the slot manager

• by clicking on the Slot Manager symbol in the toolbar or
• via the menu: Livegrade > [Slot Manager…]

In the slot manager, click on the input you want to add the device to.

Within an input click on + Add Device in the Look Devices section to add your Brompton processor to the slot.

Configuring a Brompton processor:#

While adding a Brompton processor, you have the following options to configure the device:

Host textfield
Enter the IP address of the Brompton processor. If your device should be accessed via a custom port, add a : to the IP address followed by the port (Example: 192.168.1.2:8001)

Look Update toggle
Choose how to update the look on the device.

• Interactive
  • Adjustments of the look will be sent immediately to the device.
• Manual Upload
  • Adjustments of the look will be sent on “Upload Look” actions. These actions are available as menu items (Slots > [Upload Look to Device(s)] menu), Toolbar button, Stream Deck and Tangent action

Connect button
Click on Connect to add the device to the slot. After that the current look of the corresponding input slot will always be sent to the look device as long as the input slot is in Live mode.Livegrade is then able to control the LUT of the device.

Remove button
Click on Remove to remove the device from the slot. After that the current look of the corresponding input slot won’tbe sent to the look device anymore.
