Setting up NovaStar processor
This article covers features that require activation via a module license.
Livegrade comes with support for remote control of NovaStar processors.
This feature allows users to adjust the LUT within the NovaStar processor via Livegrade, affecting how images are processed on the LED wall. Livegrade can connect to and control multiple NovaStar processors, provided they are accessible via a network connection—whether over LAN or Wi-Fi—depending on the setup.
Prerequisites#
To exchange LUT information with Livegrade, the Colorlight processor must be connected to the same network as the Mac running Livegrade.
Adding a NovaStar processor as look device#
Once a connection is established, you can launch Livegrade and add the NovaStar processor as a device to an input slot using the slot manager.
Open the slot manager
- by clicking on the Slot Manager symbol in the toolbar or
- via the menu: Livegrade > [Slot Manager…]

In the slot manager, click on the input you want to add the device to.
Within an input click on + Add Device in the Look Devices section to add your NovaStar processor to the slot.
Adding a NovaStar processor as look device#
While adding a NovaStar processor, you have the following options to configure the device:
Host textfield
Enter the IP address of the NovaStar processor. If your device should be accessed via a custom port, add a : to the IP address followed by the port (Example: 192.168.1.2:8001).
Screen dropdown menu
Select the screen you want to access. The list of available screens will automatically updated by Livergade. Use the button next to the dropdown menu to refresh the list manually.
Look Update toggle
Choose how to update the look on the device.
- Interactive
- Adjustments of the look will be sent immediately to the device.
- Manual Upload
- Adjustments of the look will be sent on “Upload Look” actions. These actions are available as menu items (Slots > [Upload Look to Device(s)] menu), Toolbar button, Stream Deck and Tangent action
Connect button
Click on Connect
to add the device to the slot. After that the current look of the corresponding input slot will always be sent to the look device as long as the input slot is in Live mode.Livegrade is then able to control the LUT of the device.
Remove button
Click on Remove
to remove the device from the slot. After that the current look of the corresponding input slot won’t be sent to the look device anymore.
