Livegrade comes with SDI output options that are suitable for most DIT setups (like two-monitor carts) by default. But when your workflow demands more, like giving the DP an extra monitor away from the DIT cart, this extension covers you. It adds quick routing options and the window layout “All Outputs” that make it easy to manage and adapt your various outputs on the fly.
Quick routing actions#
Livegrade has quick routing actions with which you can change what your outputs show without the need to re-configure them.
The quick routing options can be accessed via the output settings in the right side bar or via the output selector in the viewer header.
- Force to Live: For outputs that are currently showing an input slot, for example slot A, you can use this action to ensure that they always show the live signal. This can help, for example, if you want to use slot A on your DIT output to review the last take, but the DOP still needs the live signal to follow the light setup.
- Follows Selected Output: Activate this option for an output to display exactly what you see on your current output. This can help, for example, if you have put together a grid and want to show it to the DOP. As soon as you deactivate the option again, the output shows its original configuration again.

Window layout “All Outputs”#
To provide monitoring that not only affects the monitors on your DIT cart, but also monitors that you may not always have in view – such as monitors for the DOP besides the DIT cart – then the “All Outputs” window layout can help you get a quick overview of all outputs.
To call up the layout, use
- The window layout selector in the toolbar – right next to the project chooser
- menu items in the menu View > Window Layout > [All Outputs]
- Stream Deck or Tangent controller actions
The “All Outputs” window layout shows you all configured outputs. To access the viewer controls of an output, select the output with a mouse click.

Window Layout “All Outputs”
To create an output and assign it to an output device, use the slot manager.
Composite Slots#
The new multi-view modes work very interactively and are designed to be changed quickly.
If you want to display a grid on a monitor whose configuration remains the same regardless of your interactions, you can create a composite slot.
To add a composite slot
- Click on the ellipsis menu in the slot’s sub toolbar and select “Add Composite slot”.

Add composite slot
To configure a composite slot
- Click on the composite slot in the slot’s bar and select the slot settings tab in the slot panel on the bottom right side of the main screen.
- There you can set its layout (e.g. side by side) and its sources

Configure composite slot
To show a composite slot in an output
- select the output via the output selector in the viewer’s header and click on the composite slot
- if you want to permanently display the composite slot in this output, lock the output
