Exporting stills

Livegrade offers various options for exporting still images to share them with the post-production team, the Director of Photography or other crew members of the production.

In this article we will give you an overview of the different possibilities within the app.

“Export Shot(s) As…”#

When looks are exported for post-production, associated reference images are important. They make it possible to check if applying the look on the original camera footage will result in the same graded image as live on set.

The “Export Shot As…” dialog is ideal for this use case. It allows to export the corresponding graded still for each look file.

“Export Shot As…” can be opened

• via the Share button on the very right of the toolbar
• via the contextual menu of selected slots > [Export Shot(s) As…]
• via the main menu File > [Export Shot(s) As…]

“Export Images From Shot(s)…”#

If you mainly record clips, the “Export Still Images From Shots…” function allows you to export several stills per clip – using set marker positions.

This allows you to export several important parts of individual clips.

“Export Images From Shots” can be opened

• via the Share button on the very right of the toolbar
• via the contextual menu of selected slots > [Export Images From Shot(s)…]
• via the main menu File > [Export Images From Shot(s)…]

“Export Current Viewer Image”#

To allow a quick image export during shooting or to save a multi-view as an image, Livegrade gives you the option to export the image currently displayed in the viewer as an image.

“Export Current Viewer Image” can be triggered

• via the main menu File > [Export Current Viewer Image]
• via the Stream Deck and Tangent action [Export Current Viewer Image]

Share stills via AirDrop#

To share images easily via Airdrop, you can use the

• the Export via AirDrop… button in the “Export Images From Shot(s)…” dialog, or
• the [Export Current Viewer Image via AirDrop] menu item in the File menu
