Monitoring
Livegrade gives you numerous options for monitoring the live signals from your cameras and displaying them according to your individual needs.

Your learning guide#
This learning guide is designed to help you get to know the tools required for monitoring tasks in Livegrade.
1. Setting up the look pipeline#
The ability to manage the image processing pipeline on a filmset with Livegrade enables you as DIT to ensure that the entire film set sees the live signals as they will be seen in post-production.
2. Supervising live signals#
Livegrade offers various tools to check the exposure of the camera signals, which are described in the article Monitoring image exposure.
The recording and playback engine allows to record up to 4 camera signals at once. If you notice something during the take, you can set markers to check certain moments again later.
3. Monitor metadata#
Livegrade allows you to automatically read the metadata from cameras and display it in your slots. If you only want to see specific metadata, you can also display it on your output by adding a metadata overlay to your output.
4. Tailor your views#
Several independent outputs allow you to customize the arrangement of the images on your monitors to suit your needs. Filters such as Crop and Metadata Overlay help you to show or hide areas on a monitor – depending on what is required for you or the DOP.
