Export

Livegrade enables seamless transfer of on-set looks to post-production by utilizing collected shots as grades for the dailies grading.

In addition, Livegrade offers flexible options for exporting still images from captured shots, allowing easy sharing with the cinematographer, post-production team, and other crew members.

Your learning guide#

This learning guide features curated articles from our knowledge base to help you explore the various ways to share looks and stills with collaborators.

1. Shots as a starting point#

The shot library collects looks, media items and associated metadata and is therefore the base for every export.

To ensure comprehensive metadata collection, utilize the possibilities for entering global and slot-specific metadata.

For delivering precise, shot-specific looks to post-production, take advantage of the regrading tools. Additionally, the ability to grade multiple clipsallows for efficient reworking of entire scenes.

2. Handing over looks to Silverstack#

The easiest way to hand over looks to Silverstack is via ShotHub. To do this, you connect your Livegrade project to ShotHub to regularly upload your shots to the cloud. A Silverstack instance can then access it at any time to perform a look-up matching with the original camera footage.

If you don’t have internet access, you can also export your looks as PFLA and import them into Silverstack for the same look-matching mechanism.

3. Handing over looks in line with industry standards#

You can export looks from Livegrade in standardized formats such as ASC-CDL, 3D LUT, or ACES Metadata File (AMF). The grading mode of a look creates the necessary framework conditions for this. The look export also provides the option of exporting an associated reference image, so that after applying the exported look to original footage, it can be ensured that the result in post-production is exactly the same as on the film set.

In addition to the looks, you can export smart groups and folders of your shot library also as PDF report or as CSV.

4. Handing over stills#

Livegrade offers various options for sharing stills, described in the “Exporting stills” article. Those are:

  • Export a Reference image together with exported looks via “Export Shot As”
  • Export multiple images from marker positions via “Export Images From Shot(s)”
  • Export multi-view configurations via “Export Current Viewer Image”
  • Share stills via AirDrop
