What is the frontier edition of a Pomfort application?
Frontier editions give you early access to the next generation of features and technologies that can only reveal their full potential in real productions. While internal testing takes us far, your real-world experience helps us understand how these ideas fit into your workflows, where they provide the most value, and how they can be improved. Your feedback helps to shape the future, and whether they might become a permanent part of an application.
Who has access to the frontier edition?#
The frontier edition is available to anyone with an active license for the respective application (subscription or temporary) at no additional cost. Frontier features that are part of specific extension modules are available only to users who have purchased and activated the corresponding module.
How to work with the frontier edition?#
- Unlike a beta, the frontier edition is fully tested by the Pomfort team and production-ready.
- Features marked as “frontier” are still evolving. The application itself remains stable, so you can explore new capabilities without risking your established production workflow.
- Install the frontier edition alongside the standard edition. You can switch seamlessly between them without affecting your projects as they share the same library and preferences. Everything you create with a frontier feature stays in the shared library. The standard edition simply ignores unsupported information.
- Use your existing license key to activate.
- Send us your findings at feedback@pomfort.com. What worked on the job, what got in the way, and what would you like to see next? Based on what we learn from you, frontier features may change, be withdrawn, or eventually make it into the standard edition.
