Silverstack and Silverstack XT become one: Licensing and pricing FAQ

With the release of Silverstack v9.0, we are shifting all development toward Silverstack XT and Silverstack Lab. As part of this transition, the basic version of Silverstack has been officially phased out and is no longer available for purchase.

This change reflects a major architectural overhaul aimed at making our applications more powerful, future-proof, and robust. All features of Silverstack are integrated into Silverstack XT, allowing existing users to continue their workflows uninterrupted while gaining access to additional capabilities.

What happens to my current Silverstack subscription?#

Your existing Silverstack subscription and license key remain valid, and you can now use Silverstack XT v9 at no extra cost during your current subscription period.

To get Silverstack XT:

Download Silverstack XT v9 here.
Enter your current Silverstack license key.
Start using the new version XT v9 with all included features. For more information, please refer to our Getting Started section.

Will my billing change?#

Not immediately. You can use Silverstack XT v9 at no additional cost for the remainder of your current subscription period. When your subscription renews, pricing will be gradually adjusted as listed in the table below.

What happens when it’s time to renew?#

Starting now, only renewals for Silverstack XT v9 and Silverstack Lab v9 are available. We have introduced a transition pricing plan to make this change as smooth as possible:

For full transparency and to allow you to plan accordingly, we will notify you 10 days and 3 days before your next renewal. Of course, you can always cancel your subscription beforehand. If some of your projects only require reliable offloads and backups, we also offer the Offload Manager as a scaled-down tool that’s fully focused on these processes.

Can I keep using Silverstack v8.9?#

Yes, you can. As with any release, you are not required to update right away. In fact, we recommend waiting until your current project is complete to avoid any disruptions. However, we encourage you to switch to Silverstack XT v9.0 once your project wraps up, as support and updates for older versions will be phased out over time. Please note that your next renewal will only be available for a Silverstack XT or Silverstack Lab version.
