The AJA KiPro records only a limited amount of metadata. For RED cameras and certain Canon XF cameras, the KiPro transfers timecode information, reel name, and clip name. For all other cameras, the only metadata recorded is the timecode track generated by the KiPro according to it’s internal clock and the Scene, Shot, Take and Camera (A/B) information manually entered by the user.
Within Silverstack there are four metadata mapping options
- Colorspace
- Source Timecode
- Extract Scene, Shot and Take information from filename
- Treat Alpha Append character as camera information
The Colorspace can be specified manually as either Rec.709 or Slog. The Colorspace option Rec. 709 is the default.
The Source timecode can either be extracted from the File create date, the Quicktime header create date or the Quicktime timecode track. The Quicktime timecode track is the default, since it offers the highest precision.
The KiPro offers the possibility to automatically create a folder structure according to Scene, Shot and Take information. If you’d like to know to enable this option, please refer to the AJA KiPro manual available at the AJA website. The option Extract Scene, Shot and Take information from filename within Silverstack SET is enable by default.
The KiPro also offers the possibility to append a character to each clip name specifying the letter of the connected camera. If you’d like to know to enable this option, please refer to the AJA KiPro manual available at the AJA website. The option Treat Alpha Append character as camera information within Silverstack SET is enable by default.
